Internationally, thousands of children are born with cleft anomalies every year—but only a handful can afford reconstructive surgery. Missions to provide surgery can be costly and difficult to organize. As a result, post-surgery, children are often wrapped in black trash bags because blankets are unaffordable.
On Feb. 21, Rotaract District 5160 and Alliance for Smiles are partnering up to provide children with new quilts after surgery.
Participants from across Northern California will come together to make quilts that will distributed in China through AfS.
