Nov. 1 | General Meeting: Spotlight on Hunger and Malnutrition | 7-8PM | 102 Wurster
Hey, Rotaractors (and friends)!
Hope the Halloween festivities are treating you well! With all that candy, and Thanksgiving around the corner, it’s a great time to think about nutrition and health.
As many of you know, the District Project this year is to work with Vitamin Angels in delivering Vitamin A to malnourished children all over the world. To demonstrate how easily we are able to get key nutrients in our diet, and to highlight how difficult it might be in a developing country, we will be serving FREE FRUIT PARFAITS and GummiVites!
Come find out about the great events we have coming up: Entrepreneur Workshop, Day of Peace Service Day, Interact Stayover.
We will also be discussing a ROTARACT TAHOE RETREAT, so come out and plan with us! Meet your officers, and play in the snow! More Info at the General Meeting.
If you need to pick up your shirt, email your name and size to: kwang@calrotaract.org
See you there!

About Vitamin Angels:
Did you know?
-1/3 third of all childhood deaths are attributable to undernutrition.
- For young children, essential nutrients help build the foundation for good health and the opportunity to lead meaningful and productive lives.
Vitamin Angel’s mission is to mobilize and deploy private sector resources to advance availability, access and use of micronutrients, especially vitamin A, among at-risk populations in need.
Two main programs that ensure maximum impact:
-Worldwide, an estimated 190 million children under five suffer from vitamin A deficiency (VAD), a major underlying cause of child mortality and blindness around the world. However, with a simple, cost-effective vitamin A capsule every six months we can prevent VAD blindness and reduce under-five child mortality by about 24% in at-risk populations.
-Essential multiple micronutrients, or multivitamins, reduce the effects of undernutrition and malnutrition in children under five. Vitamin Angels offers infants and children the nutrients they need to grow up healthy, increasing their potential for educational and economic achievements in life. Vitamin Angels provides millions of children and pregnant mothers in over 40 countries with vitamins for a better chance at life.
