Come share your collegiate wisdom with Interactors from District 5170 as they come to explore and learn all about UC Berkeley! The variety of things you can do include: telling high school students about your first year experience, your major, leading mini socials, and helping to facilitate the overall event. This is your chance to inspire young students to come to Cal and to fill them in on all the things you wish you knew back as a high school student.
In order to make this program a success, we need Rotaractors who are willing to host these Interactors at their dorms or apartments, so if you are interested, PLEASE SIGN UP HERE!. This wouldn’t be possible without you guys! We promise that these kids are really responsible, nice, and will clean up after themselves!

Apr 13 | Dance Marathon! | 8PM-8AM | Pauley Ballroom, MLK
Dance Marathon is an annual campus-wide event that brings students together for a fun-filled night in the fight against Pediatric AIDS. The overnight event includes dancing, live entertainment, educational activities, henna artists, massage therapists, an inflatable obstacle course, a casino with a (virgin) drinks bar, a photo booth, FREE FOOD, and prizes!
Pediatric AIDS severely affects the lives of millions of children, approximately 6 percent of the total number of people living with HIV in the United States and worldwide. Every hour, around 31 children die as a result of AIDS. But pediatric AIDS is PREVENTABLE.
Your $19 registration fee is all it takes to treat a pregnant mother and prevent transmission of HIV to her child, so just by registering, you are saving a child’s life!

It’s time to hop, skip, and jump into our fantastic Fourth Gen!
We will be discussing upcoming events and will host a mini service project for all members to participate in so you can get a taste of the wonderful service projects Cal Rotaract has planned for March/April!
We’ll recap WAPI building night and the Family Dodgeball Tournament, announce details about upcoming Local/International Committee meetings, and give you all of the dates for upcoming service events such as Eggster Egg Hunt, BOSS Project, Dance Marathon, and Relay for Life.
FREE FOOD! All of you hungry Rotaractors are in for a treat – we’ll be providing yummy yogurt parfaits to get you energized and ready to jump into action!

Mar 12 | Making A Difference With Our Hands | 7-9PM | Unit 3 APR, 2400 Durant Ave.
Come join Rotaract’s International Committee and Unit 3 Southside Hall Association in this fun and meaningful event where we will be making WAPIs (Water Pasteurization Indicators) at UNIT 3 APR!
WAPIs are simple, reusable, low cost devices containing a special soy wax that helps users determine when water has reached pasteurization temperatures, when disease-causing organisms in water and milk are killed. The wax melts at the same temperature as the water is pasteurized. Boiling is often recommended to achieve pasteurization. However, contaminated water and milk can be pasteurized at temperatures well below boiling, saving time and fuel.
We will be sending these WAPIs to the people who need them in less developed countries where access to constant clean water supply is limited.
We will be making these devices with our own hands so don’t miss out on this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many others!
This event is open to all students so feel free to bring your friends!

On Sunday, March 11, 2012, Jill’s Legacy and the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation will host the third annual “JILL’S LEGACY JOG FOR JILL BERKELEY”. Last year, over 1,200 students participated to raise funds and increase Lung Cancer awareness.
Jill said, “Dream of great things and always believe that what you want is attainable.”
Let’s BEAT LUNG CANCER for Jill.
This year’s 5k will begin and end at Bear’s Lair.
*Registration opens at 11AM
*Shotgun start is at 12PM
Student Registration is $15
Make sure to put your team as Cal Rotaract.
We will be meeting at Bancroft and Telegraph at 11:00am and checking in together.
