GET EXCITED! INTERCOMMITTEE FIELD DAY IS COMING UP SOON AND WILL BE LOADS OF FUN!

We welcome members of the following categories to join us:
International Service Committee
Act For Sight Committee
Local Service Committee
and last but not least, ANYONE signed up for Relay for Life.

We will be spending a [hopefully] beautiful afternoon playing field-day related games under the bright shiny sun.

For those of you who LOVE knowing the logistics of everything, here is the breakdown:

1. Meet on Memorial Glade at 11AM on April 18th, 2010.

2. Gather in your respective teams listed above. The way we are differentiating the teams are by “Hello my name is…” name-tags with specifically colored pens to write your name in to categorize each person to each respective team.

3. We will play the following games:
a. Telephone Charades
b. Wheelbarrow
c. Orange Neck Relay
d. Steal the Bacon
e. Egg Spoon
f. Water Balloon fight!

4. POST FIELD DAY! For those of you who can’t have enough of each other, we’ll be hosting an EPIC game of Ultimate Frisbee!

So come one, come all to this friendly outing and a day of fun!

P.S. Snacks will be provided, but you should bring your own water bottle!

We’ve all heard of Cheeseboard and Zachery’s before as Cal Staples. However, what about the Thai Temple by Ashby Bart? Come join The Gustaves on a Sunday brunch food social at this hidden culinary gem. Your taste buds won’t regret it!

Show local high school Interactors around Berkeley! Hang out,and play games! There will be a Q&A session about majors, college life, etc. We will also be giving them campus tours. Take a break from midterms and come out to our AMAZING RACE EVENT ON MARCH 6th!!!! Teams of 4-6 will be racing around and competing against one another in our campus wide scavenger hunt. This is the ultimate battle of the championship title, bragging rights, and an amazing cool prize! DON’T DELAY AND SIGN UP TODAY! Families sign-ups past 6 members will be separated into two teams that will represent the family, therefore the family has TWICE the chance to win so encourage your family members to join! THIS EVENTS IS GOING TO BE LOADS OF FUN SO DON’T MISS OUT! The last day to register for this event will be on March 4th at 5pm!!!

Yes, you almost guessed it, but that is okay because:

It’s the Cal Rotaract Fall Banquet!

It is almost the Cal Rotaract End-of-the-Year Banquet! There will be delicious food and a really fun mystery gift exchange called White Elephant! It will be a lot of fun and its all for YOU, our awesome members. It is a celebration to reward your efforts this semester, so there will be super cool member appreciation gifts for official members and other opportunities for prizes! Remember, you have to be a paid member to be eligible for the prizes, but it is not too late to become an official member! You can bring your dues to the banquet and receive a Cal Rotaract T-shirt and pin.

What is White Elephant?

So White Elephant is a gift exchange game where everyone brings a gift and wraps it. They are anonymously put in the center of the room and people begin picking one by one with the option of stealing a gift too. The game ends when everyone who brought a gift has a gift. More details will be explained at the banquet!

Here are the basic instructions for White Elephant:

• Bring a gift ($5 value, min)! Find it at home, or go out and buy one! Gifts can be humorous or used items from home that are still in good condition as long as it meets minimum price requirements.
• Wrap your gift! You can easily get gift wrap at Dollar Store or use your creativity.
• Do not write your name on your gift

PIMP YO’ PUMPKIN

Cal Rotaract is saving the victimized pumpkins from the ugly pumpkin evil by carving into them cool designs!

WHY?

So, the pumpkins actually do not need saving, but they do need to look cool and BE SOLD. Cal Rotaract will be coming together as a group to have fun designing a bunch of pumpkins to sell to Berkeley Rotary Members at our Rotary-Rotaract Mixer.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a professional pumpkin carver to come and participate. We just want you to come out and have fun with other Rotaractors and work your creativity on the pumpkins.

We will have pumpkins for you to carve, but you can bring your own pumpkin that you wanted decorated for your apartment/dorm and carve it with us!

WHAT IS IT?

Participate in leadership workshops, develop professional skills, have fun, and meet other Rotaractors from all over the district at Rotaract 5160′s District Conference!

All Rotaractors and prospective Rotaractors are invited to come share experiences and just have fun participating in the activities and meeting new people. District governor Mitty Chang and other district council members have planned various activities to help Rotaractors (YOU) with many necessary and useful skills.

We had a great turnout last semester and would like to see Berkeley well represented again because BEARS ROCK.

Yes, even as AWESOME as the district conference will be, we will top the night with a exciting journey through the nation’s largest corn maze! Have fun scavenging through the corn stalks as a big group or wander off with a few other Rotaractors and play hide and seek. Just have fun! (but don’t get lost, we don’t want to lose more members to the corn maze yeti………..jk!)

Cal Rotaract’s Polio Plus committee is holding an amazing-race-styled competition open to EVERYONE! Wanna kick Polio out and win some $$ for YOU or YOUR CAUSE while helping Rotary International “End Polio Now”?

Have fun searching for clues and completing challenges while knowing that you are saving lives and can win money too! To add a twist to it and a little more challenge, since we know all of you guys are super smart, we’re having it at LATE at NIGHT. Even if you’re not in Cal Rotaract, you encourage you sign up!

PRIZES:

If you win, you will get a share of ALL proceeds!

• 50% goes directly into buying polio vaccines
  
• 35% goes to FIRST PLACE
• 15% goes to SECOND PLACE
• ALL REGISTRANTS get a END POLIO NOW lapel pin!
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• If you are signing up as part of  team, you must have 4-7 members. (we don’t want 2 people wandering off alone in the dark nor a giant mass of people in one team)
• You DO NOT have to be part of a TEAM. You can sign up as a FREE AGENT and team up with other FREE AGENTS.
• REGISTRATION FEE: $6 per person (this buys 10 polio vaccines!)
