About me:

Hi everyone! My name is Andrea, and I’m excited to serve as the President for Cal Rotaract this year! I’m a junior studying Molecular and Cell Biology originally from Downey, California. In my free time, you’ll find me either dancing with my team, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, scrolling on TikTok for hours on end, or FaceTiming my cat Nellie (who lives about 350 miles away). I’m always down to meet new people over food/drinks so if you’re ever craving boba, feel free to reach out!

Why Rotaract?

I first joined Cal Rotaract during my second semester of freshman year because I struggled to find inclusive volunteering organizations that genuinely wanted to impact and improve the surrounding Berkeley community. As I got more involved, the welcoming and supportive atmosphere immediately stood out to me. Through Rotaract, I’ve connected with like-minded individuals passionate about volunteering and making a difference around them. Rotaract is also one of the only organizations that I’m most actively involved in and I’ve grown so much as a person because of it!

Hi everyone! My name is Alex Huang and I’m from the Bay Area (specifically Castro Valley, CA)! I’m currently a freshman majoring in Economics with a potential double major in Data Science. In my free time, I love to try new boba places, watch some food videos on YouTube, go on drives, and explore new places with my friends. Why Rotaract?

When I was in high school, I was part of many volunteering clubs including Interact and the California Scholarship Federation. About me:

Hi! My name is Roberto, I am one of your HR co-chairs. I was raised in the SoCal area and am currently studying molecular and cell biology. I like to go swimming at RSF from time to time. But I’m usually in my dorm binging a kdrama or, if it’s exam season, cramming and rushing through practice exams. If you ever want to talk about food, kdramas, or whatever comes to mind feel, free to say hi! 🙂

Why Rotaract?

I originally joined because a friend invited me to the welcome week events, and I stayed because I really enjoyed the service events and people! Especially after coming to a large campus like Berkeley, everything felt so new to me. I am so surprised at how different Norcal is from Socal, such as the weather and lifestyle. But I met such amazing people who are just trying to make their way through college. I hope to work alongside you and help to serve our community.

Hobbies:
Playing violin, reading, writing, cooking, being in nature, and yapping with friends.

About me:

Hi! My name is Sam, and I’m a freshman intending computer science, data science, and psychology. I lived in Taiwan and then LA county before coming to Berkeley. My service passions lie in education, mentoring, and mental health, which I will explore further this Spring. As a freshman, one of my resolutions is to be more involved on campus and make the most of college. In my free time, I love playing and listening to music, taking scenic trips on the BART, and reading and writing.

Why Rotaract?

I was looking for a service club this year, and after attending a few Rotaract events, I knew it was the right choice. I felt welcomed at my first meeting, and I saw how passionate everyone was when I volunteered at Stayover. UC Berkeley is known for its competitive and professional club culture, which has its virtues and vices, but Rotaract stands out for its inclusiveness (you don’t need to submit a resume or be interviewed to join) and dedication to service.
